Are you looking to do some good in your community? Do you love working with animals? Are you concerned about animal welfare and homeless pets?
Volunteer with Assisi Animal Foundation!
We can always use cheerful, energetic volunteers! If you can help out just a couple hours a week or have nearly unlimited time, we can find a place for you.
We need people who can:
Work hands-on with cats or dogs
Assist with administrative or other functions
Because we need to make sure that we are staffed at all times, we are unable to accommodate drop-in volunteers. Please use the contact form to make arrangements to volunteer with us, download and fill out the Volunteer Information Form and send it back to us to schedule volunteer times.
We love our volunteers and our volunteers love working with us and the animals in our care! Click here to see what our volunteers have to say about the time they spend with us.
Assisi welcomes a part-time volunteer veterinarian. This is a perfect opportunity if you are just starting your career and looking to enhance your skills! Or if you are retired and wish looking to stay active. Maybe you have been inactive for a while and are looking to stay active. We need your help with tending to the health needs of the dogs and cats in our care. Please call or e-mail us if you’re interested.
Are you thinking about bringing a pet into your home, but just not sure? Do you love pets and want to make sure that homeless animals have a home where they can be tended to? Have you ever thought about becoming a Pet Foster Parent? We always have a need for homes to foster pets that may need special attention, have a medical need or just need to learn to become a better pet, for their forever home. Please contact us for more information on Fostering with AAF or to become a licensed foster home.
The Assisi Animal Foundation has the most dedicated people I’ve ever met. I will always be extremely grateful to Lee and those who helped me when my cat became ill. Such compassion! It touched my heart so that I became a volunteer and help whenever I can. The place is spotless! If they could sell their secret for keeping it so clean, it would generate an incredible boost to their fundraising! ??
Quite simply, love knows no bounds, and it’s obvious at the Assisi Animal Foundation. It’s a marvelous organization that treats every animal as if it was a part of their own family. I know my contributions are going to a very worthwhile cause. The animals are #1 and treated with gentle kindness and treated with the best of care.
As a longtime volunteer, I continue to praise the work of AAF and am honored to be a volunteer. Yes, it’s a beautiful shelter, but I am even more touched by Lee and the other compassionate people willing to rescue and help an animal at a moment’s notice. The animals receive the highest quality pet care and that’s why I’ve also adopted pets from Assisi.
I began volunteering as a child with my mother. Now, I’m grown, working in Chicago and living in Palatine. Yet I still make it a point to volunteer at Assisi over the weekends.
It’s a rewarding experience and also enjoyable as I’ve formed friendships with other like-minded volunteers.
Lee and her staff have done such a fabulous job with the Assisi Animal Foundation. She writes such wonderful newsletters.
They’re filled with interesting news and helpful information – not just cats and dogs – but all animals. Yes, I’m a volunteer,
but it’s because of their (Assisi’s) respect for animal rights that I’m involved. It’s a remarkable organization.
Thank you Assisi Animal Foundation for the love and care you show each and every furbaby that crosses your path! I am forever grateful.
Assisi is deeply devoted to their animals. I’m impressed with the care and compassion they give the animals, especially those that are sick. As a volunteer dog walker, I enjoyed the time visiting with the animals and witnessing their compassionate staff in action. They truly keep these gentle creatures safe from harm.
